Rio One Day Tour
Start your day of exploration of the fascinating city with a panoramic tour of downtown Rio. Enjoy a
brief stop at the Metropolitan Cathedral to admire its modern design and four beautiful floor-to-ceiling
stained glass windows. Your tour continues as you survey many of the historic buildings on your way to
the iconic Sugar Loaf.
Reminiscent of a traditional loaf of sugar, hence the name, you will travel up the mountain on a cable car,
stopping briefly at a vantage point approximately 700 feet above sea level. Enjoy unparalleled views of the
city, Guanabara Bay and Corcovado Mountain. You will then ascend to the peak of Sugar Loaf for breathtaking
views of Copacabana Beach, the beaches of Niteroi and the Santa Cruz Fortress.
Enjoy lunch at a local seafood restaurant for the afternoon portion of your tour. On your way to the Cosme
Velho train station, you will pass through colorful local districts. Experience a scenic cog train ride
through the Tijuca rainforest up to the world-famous 125 foot Christ Redeemer Statue. You will spend
approximately 45 minutes at the statue, where you can capture once-in-a-lifetime photos. After your
return train ride, you will be dropped off back at your hotel.

Macchu Picchu (Peru) and Iguaza Falls (Argentina)
A unique tour, combining the mystical and sacred city of Macchu Picchu and the breathtaking beauty of Iguassu (Iguaza) Falls!
Travel to Machu Picchu, the ancient sacred city of Peru. Ride the scenic Vistadome train, where photographic opportunities abound. Spend time marveling at the ruins, and walk along the streets high in the Andes. Wonder at the marvels of this ancient city in the clouds.
You will be awe-struck by the natural wonder of the Iguassu Waterfalls. Nothing in the world compares to the spectacle provided by the stunning group of 275 waterfalls that make up the Iguassu Waterfalls. View this natural wonder from two different countries-Argentina and Brazil.
The Argentina side has excellent facilities, a scenic train and a series of well-placed walkways that allow you to get exceedingly close to the thundering torrent. The Brazilian side is better for panoramic vistas of the foaming cataracts, especially the Devil’s Throat. Gaze in amazement as water cascades over a 300 foot precipice against a backdrop of lush tropical foliage. Make sure you take your cameras for this truly spectacular South American tour!
DAY 1: After breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel lobby, then taken straight to
the train station for your trip to Machu Picchu. Ride in a renovated carriage on the Vistadome train
to make the most of the spectacular scenery on
your way to the Aguos Calientes station, where you will board a small bus for the trip to the Sacred
City of Machu Picchu. Your expert guide will lead you through the main streets of these amazing ruins.
You will have time to explore a bit on your own, or just meditate on the beauty of this site. Hiking
the ruins is sure to work up an appetite, so a buffet lunch will be waiting for you.
In the afternoon, return to the train station and board the Vistadome train for your return to Cuzco.
Enjoy an evening exploring Cuzco and taking in the local sites and sampling the local cuisine.
NOTE: Due to the train schedule, you must either arrive in Cuzco one day early, or overnight in Lima, Peru, or
be booked on the first flight of the day into Cuzco to take
the train to Machu Picchu.
DAY 2: Depending on your flight time, you may have leisure time to
explore Cuzco further prior to your departure for Iguaza Falls. Arrive at Cataratas International Airport and check in at your hotel. If you have an evening
flight, you might like to just rest and relax. Alternatively, if you arrive early in the day, you may
like to do some sightseeing on your own in the city.
DAY 3: After breakfast you will be picked up at the hotel lobby and driven to the Iguassu National Park.
An English-speaking guide will accompany you. Located on the Iguazú River, on the border between Brazil
and Argentina, Iguassu Falls is one of world's most impressive cataracts – 60 feet higher than Niagara
and about 1.5 times as wide. The name Iguassu comes from the Guaraní Indian word meaning "great water".
From the Visitor Center on the Argentinean side you can head down trails or ride a picturesque train
(included in the separate entrance fee). There are two basic circuits: an upper path and a lower path.
The lower path (Paseo Inferior) leads to the base of the Falls where the headlong
crash of the torrent releases a thick mist into the air. The upper path (Paseo Superior) leads you
around the top rim of the precipice and affords breathtaking views from a strategically placed catwalk.
During the day you will enjoy a buffet lunch at a restaurant (included in your tour price).
At the end of the day you will return to your hotel in Foz do Iguassu. You may take this opportunity
to enjoy the local cuisine!
DAY 4: After breakfast you will be taken to the Brazilian side of the Falls. The Brazilian side is
famous for the magnificent panoramas of spectacular Iguassu. You will see stunning views of the famous
feature known as The Devil's Throat (or "Garganta del Diablo").
Here, 14 falls drop 350 feet with such force that a 100-foot tall cloud of mist is permanently suspended
overhead. Watch for the rainbow!
For a close-up look, walk through the subtropical forest of Iguassu National Park to the base of Salto
Floriano and take the elevator to the top of the Falls, or walk out over the Falls at Salto Union.
A buffet lunch in a restaurant is included in the tour. At the end of this portion of the tour, you
will be dropped back at your hotel. You may stay at the hotel for an additional night or leave for the
airport for your flight home, or to continue your South American adventures!
